Summary:

As a Software Engineer on the Site Management team, you will be responsible for working on a CMS application that allows the Site Merchandising team to curate shopping experiences for our customers. The tools allow for navigation management, event management, promotional placements as well as pages that are curated based on custom product criteria. Our consumer facing API’s are used by millions of desktop and mobile users. The ideal candidate has built CMS applications in the past and has a passion in building tools with great user experiences.

The team uses several different technologies. Our backend services are built in Scala using the Play framework. Any user facing tools are built on Node/React. This role has an opportunity to make a big impact on the future state and architecture of the platform and can really help form the strategic technical vision.

A day in the life… 

  • Architecting and authoring high-quality tested systems on a regular cadence which meets specifications.
  • We use continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Writing unit, integration, behavioral and performance tests.
  • Partner with QA and Product to build systems that are pragmatically tested, maintainable and secure.
  • Embracing changing specifications to solve business problems.
  • Finding new ways to solve technical and business problems.
  • Working collaboratively with other team members to teach and learn from them.

You own this if you have… 

  • 3+ years software development experience with Scala, or Java, PHP.
  • Interest in learning Scala and functional typed programming.
  • 3+ years of API development experience.
  • 3+ years with JavaScript Frameworks (React, Angular, Node)
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL.
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent experience.
