As a Full Stack Engineer - Pear Deck, you will be designing and implementing solid architectural solutions with the rest of the engineering team. With your passion to quickly solve problems and ability to implement high quality code while continuously collaborating with other amazing team members, you will be making our teachers’ lives easier while helping them engage every student every day.

What You’ll Do

• Contributing to the full software development lifecycle, from conception, definition, scoping, planning, implementation, researching and testing, to documentation, delivery and maintenance
• Collaborating with a cross-functional team toward feature delivery; Working both independently and in pairs/groups with others of varying skill levels
• Leveraging strong problem solving skills to apply existing knowledge and experience to new problems and creative solutions
• Writing production-grade code for well-scoped features with the help of code reviewers
• Understanding, implementing and contributing to the GoGuardian best practices, including style guides, standards, code reviews, documentation management, and operational workflows
• Being generally available to work during standard working hours and to participate in an on-call rotation for production application support

Who You Are

• 3+ years and/or 2+ previous industry position(s) w/ dedicated experience as a software engineer of SaaS applications
• Competency in one or more general purpose programming languages such Javascript, Python or Ruby.
• Direct involvement in shipping at least one production application / product
• Frontend experience using Javascript/Typescript, Angular, React, Redux
• Backend experience using Node.js and Express
• Database experience with MongoDB and Firebase
• Experience with monitoring, performance optimization, technical documentation, and integration testing
• Up-to-date knowledge of full stack web development languages, libraries, and technology
• Writes production-grade code for well-scoped features; integrating feedback from code reviewers 
• Learns quickly, applies existing knowledge to new challenges and is building proficiency in relevant technical skills
• Confident in making technical decisions and explaining the reasoning behind them
