As a Front-End Engineer on the Beacon team, you will be designing and implementing solid architectural solutions with the rest of the engineering team. With your passion to quickly solve problems and ability to implement high-quality code while continuously collaborating with other amazing team members, you will be making our teachers’, counselors’, and administrators’ lives easier while helping them keep students safe.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from conception, definition, scoping, planning, implementation, researching, and testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team toward feature delivery
• Work both independently and in pairs/groups with others of varying skill levels
• Leverage strong problem-solving skills to apply existing knowledge and experience to new problems and creative solutions
• Write production-grade code for well-scoped features with the help of code reviewers
• Understand, implement, and contribute to the GoGuardian best practices, including style guides, standards, code reviews, documentation management, and operational workflows

Who You Are

• 3+ years of dedicated experience as a software engineer of SaaS applications
• Direct involvement in shipping multiple production SaaS applications/products in varied disciplines or verticals
• Proficiency with the following technologies and practices: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypescriptFront-End technologies including React, Redux, React Hooks, CSS-in-JS, and Webpack
• Modern UI and API patterns, practices, and technologies
• Modern CSS constructs and responsive design principles
• Using Git in a professional/workplace environment
• Experience working closely together with UI/UX designers;
• Solid, proven experience with Test-driven development and writing tests; Jest preferred Experience with CI/ CD procedures and tools
• Writes production-grade code for well-scoped features and integrates feedback from code reviewers 
• Learns quickly, applies existing knowledge to new challenges, and is building mastery in relevant technical skills
• Confident in making technical decisions and explaining the reasoning behind them
• Comfortable developing solid technical solutions to ambiguous or open-ended problems
