As a part of VideoAmp’s platform team you will be involved in the design, development, deployment, and testing processes for new technology, methodology, and architecture. Our platform provides disruptive insights and optimizes the efficacy of our client’s ad campaigns. You will be a core member of our engineering architecture team and will have a major impact on influencing the technological direction. You will identify new technology to pursue, validate value by leading POC’s, and then drive adoption across our engineering department.

We’re mindful of how the time and space complexities of the small parts greatly affect our services at scale and we need your help to ensure our engineering department can build responsive systems while staying productive. You will help research new technology, review architecture, identify shortcomings in existing infrastructure, and recommend solutions.

The successful candidate is a motivated, hardworking leader who possesses an extremely high bar for themselves and the quality of their work. This is a highly technical position that requires a breadth of knowledge across multiple systems and the ability to execute complex cross-team initiatives.

TECHNOLOGIES: AWS, Kubernetes, NodeJS, TypeScript, React, Postgres, Snowflake, Python, Scala, Spark, Hive, Airflow, Jenkins.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• 10+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining production web application systems
• 3+ years of experience in a lead engineer role
• Experience leading new engineering initiatives autonomously
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong expertise in microservice architecture
• Experience with application security practices
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Strong understanding of asynchronous messaging architectural patterns
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and container-based deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of test-driven development
• Experience with consuming data and analyzing queries in an MPP data warehouse is a plus
• Node.js or Python language experience a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Participate and lead new initiatives
• Work closely with other Engineering and Product leaders to identify holistic solutions
• Research new technology and draft POC’s to validate
• Document, communicate, and assist adoption of new solutions across our engineering department
• Participate in our Architecture Review Board process
• Evangelize the value of the initiatives you champion to stakeholders
• Analyze and measure the performance and resource usage of existing and proposed solutions
• Review existing solutions and identify cost effective enhancements
• Mentor senior-level engineers for leadership and best practices in development
• Document, communicate, and assist adoption of new tech across our engineering department
