In this role, you will be building the front-end applications, tooling, and architecture that make up Next Trucking’s product experiences. Building the right front-end architecture and an efficient front-end development workflow requires a deep understanding of not only Computer Science fundamentals, but also a variety of web technologies and best practices. You will be applying this expertise to build Next Trucking’s front-end development tooling and infrastructure; front-end application architecture, patterns, and practices; and high quality user experiences. You will be working cross-functionally within engineering, product, and design to align the front-end technology being built with the product strategy and vision by building testable front-end applications, shared component libraries, and design-to-development processes. You will be joining a mission driven team that values getting things done, learning, and building a strong engineering focused culture.

Experience

• 7+ years of Javascript (or Javascript framework) engineering experience.
• Track record of delivering products using modern single page application (React, Angular, etc.) Javascript frameworks.
• Meaningful hands-on experience implementing front-end build processes with Gulp, Grunt, WebPack or equivalent. 
• Experience with CSS preprocessors. (SASS, LESS, etc.)
• Demonstrable experience with JavaScript unit testing frameworks and end-to-end testing frameworks.
• Comfortable implementing or utilizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical team members.
• Motivated by a sense of urgency and ownership.
• BS Degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred

• Graduate degree in Computer Science.
• Hands-on experience with NodeJS or other server-side tech for API development.
• Comfortable with PostCSS and CSSNext.
• Engaged in the open source software community.
• Strong sense of customer empathy.
• In love with coding.
