THE PURPOSE:

 

Build exciting hyperloop hardware for prototyping and testing. Work with technicians & engineers to build, test and iterate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Learn new skill sets for future career development.

 

THE ROLE:

  • Please note this is a temporary position
  • Execute the build of hyperloop prototypes and test articles
  • Function as equipment, tool, or process subject matter expert
  • Operate equipment, machines, and hand tools required for tests and builds
  • Work with Lead Manufacturing Technician and engineers to build a wide variety of hardware
  • Identify and execute on improvements to existing build processes
  • Provide build, machining, and assembly feedback to engineers for all projects, tests, or builds
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspaces using the principles of 6S
  • Support maintaining a safe work environment
  • Responsible to collect & record data as needed
  • Responsible for project documentation such as data, SOPs and lessons learned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

THE CANDIDATE:

  • An experienced mechanical technician who has built hardware, machines and/or products
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Punctual, positive attitude, eager to learn and willing to dive into new projects head-on
  • Someone with a “safety first” mindset
  • A responsible individual who can work independently with little direction

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Mechanical aptitude and experience in assembly of complex products, equipment, machines, and/or tools
  • Proficient with basic workshop hand tools and power tools
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Demonstrated communication skills

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in R&D hardware development environment
  • Machine shop experience with basic shop processes such as drilling, milling, assembly a plus
  • Basic electrical experience in wiring, connections and/or assembly a plus
