Who we are looking for

Promenade (formerly known only as BloomNation), is growing rapidly and looking for a Senior Engineer to join our shared services team. You will work to build out an entire ecosystem for our suite of B2B enterprise florist tools as well as create features and functionality for our online floral marketplace, BloomNation.com, with more than 3,000 florists across the country. As our team grows you will help to architect the future of technology for our company. 

Specifically, you will…

• Write clean, scalable, and robust PHP code 
• This role will focus on adding new features and assisting with deployments
• Architect and implement solutions for our premium site (SaaS), the marketplace, and dashboard applications
• Implementation of our REST APIs which will power our next generation front end applications
• Mentor other engineers on best practices via pair programming sessions
• Work with product and engineering teams during agile lifecycle to deliver both engineering and product feature sets

You will excel if you have...

• 4+ years of experience writing code for a backend framework, preferably PHP
• SQL code experience, e.g., joins and nested queries (we work close to the data.) If you’ve logged out and explained ORM queries, you’re in good shape here
• Experience with search platforms such as ElasticSearch or Solr, we use ES
• Understanding of distributed caching using Redis or Memcached
• Time on a scrum managed project: daily standups, kanban tracked tickets, etc.
• Succinct communicator with the ability to fully explain technical problems and their solutions
• You take initiative and fix things that are broken when they see them
• Development experience with Magento
• Development experience with Node.js
• Experience with payment integrations such as Stripe API
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field
