As a Staff Cloud Engineer on the Platform team, you will offer insights on the best services, tools, and features to keep Mothership moving forward at scale.

In this role, you will take our technical foundation to the next level. The world is yours, whether it comes to our production infrastructure, continuous delivery pipelines, streaming platform, databases, and/or security.

What You'll Do

• Instrument, optimize, and ensure the high availability of our multiple cloud platforms
• Design, automate, and tune platform network topologies to maximize performance and flexibility in rapidly changing environments
• Integrate, develop, and operate Open Source and Cloud-Native tools to serve critical functions of our platform services
• Level up our infrastructure through continuous delivery pipelines
• Maintain best practices and optimize performance for our datastores
• Apply best practices towards security across our applications, APIs, and databases
• Apply your expertise to ensure that our systems are robust, scalable, and secure as we look to expand exponentially to more customers, drivers, and cities on our platform
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience building infrastructure in AWS at a well-established and/or high-growth organization
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Experience in GCP is a plus
• Significant experience managing and deploying containers to production environments
• Experience developing containerized CI/CD pipelines, working with tools such as Drone CI, Github Actions, Spinnaker, Argo, etc.
• Experience with CloudFront, Cloudflare, Fastly, or other CDN services
• Strong knowledge regarding authentication and security best practices
• Experience provisioning AWS accounts and services using Infrastructure as Code automation and tools, like Terraform

Compensation Philosophy

At Mothership, we believe it's vital to offer a range of compensation packages, so you have the power to make the appropriate financial decision for yourself and your family. Upon offer, you will receive a breakdown of 5 different cash vs. equity packages to choose from, with additional information on estimated equity valuation.

The cash portion for this role ranges from $188,000 - $235,000.

We offer equity options in ISO that vest over four years with a one-year cliff. The % and value will be discussed later in the interview process.
