Software Engineer (Full Stack) - Web

About the role and about You:
You will be working closely with a cross functional team devoted to growing Zwift’s ever-expanding and loyal member base. You will focus on customer-facing web projects across the zwift.com web ecosystem to that effect. Our team is focused on experimentation and trying out new ideas - we move quickly to bring about immediate results to our stakeholders.
We are looking for a developer who can hit the ground running; a quick learner, who can quickly grok Zwift’s internal systems and not just work within them, but also can suggest ways to make them better. Someone who likes to work fast, who writes clean code with an eye toward forward-compatibility. A mentor, who doesn’t hesitate to step in to help a fellow developer out of a jam or to answer a question. A mentee, who strives to improve themselves, and thrives in a collaborative, remote-first environment.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate within a cross-functional team to architect and build world-class features and experiences.
- Contribute to technical planning and design efforts vital to executing our company roadmap.
- Contribute to our interviewing process and team onboarding efforts.
- Contribute to risk mitigation, optimization, and performance improvement efforts.
- Learn, coach, and mentor within your team and across teams to improve and elevate yourself and others.
What we’re looking for:
- BS in Computer Science or Relevant Technical Area / 5+ years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer
- Advanced Experience with a JavaScript Framework (react preferred)
- Experience with a backend technology (i.e. Node, PHP, Java)
- Advanced Experience with CSS
- Experience with cloud-based web engineering (git, CI/CD, aws, etc)
- Experience leading a development project, mentoring other team members
Bonus points:
- Enthusiasm for cycling, and/or Zwift
- Shopify Experience
- Game Industry experience
- A believer in the importance of standards in coding, and finding ways to seamlessly integrate them into development practices
