Tamara Mellon is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to help design and implement new features across multiple backend applications that span marketing, logistics & fulfillment, operations, finance, and merchandising. As a senior presence and a core individual contributor on a small team, you will play a critical role in everything from mentorship through code reviews to developing key software that will be at the heart of a fast-growing startup.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services to support our core product.
• Design and optimize software to work in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP).
• Make technical decisions that improve the codebase while minimizing risk.
• Decompose complex business problems and collaborate, organize, and plan delivery.
• Contribute to the development of the team and best practices (e.g. testing, code reviews).
• Build solutions for appropriate scalability. You’re comfortable “hacking” an MVP, but know when it requires more.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years in software development roles.
• Experience in at least two languages i.e. Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, Node, or Elixir.
• Experience with e-commerce and web applications.
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery.
• Strong software architecture and design skills.
• Proficiency in relational database schema design (Postgres).
• Familiarity with a web framework i.e. Rails, Django, Flask, Spring.
• Conversant in ES6+ and Node.js.
