Tradesy is seeking an exceptionally talented Senior Backend Engineer to work closely with other engineers, designers and product owners to develop reliable, performant, secure and scalable systems.

Success in this role requires a willingness to take initiative in discovering all aspects of the back end systems.  It also requires applying that knowledge to debug issues and to develop robust solutions for the business.

• Four or more years of professional work experience writing backend (server side) code
• A mastery of Python, PHP, Ruby or similar programming language
• The drive to constantly hone your craft - designing and building robust and maintainable systems
• The ability to discuss and explain system architecture and component design
• Knowledge of database design and the ability to manage data across multiple data stores
• An appreciation for paying down tech debt and avoiding its accrual in the first place
• A desire to mentor and set a positive example for junior and mid-level engineers
• Experience building APIs or services using RESTful principles is required
• Experience building and maintaining a large scale customer facing website is required
• Experience with Redis or a caching layer is preferred
• Experience with Elasticsearch is a plus
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
