Senior Satellite Electronics Engineer

Responsibilities
The Space Systems Group is seeking an Electronics Engineer to work within a tightly integrated program office of Air Force, Aerospace, and SE&I contractor. This role will require working closely with contractors, program office, matrixed engineering staff, external agencies, and others. The selected applicant will serve as a key member of a team supporting the planning, acquisition, and development of advanced communication systems.
Key Functions
- Evaluate potential architectures and associated trades
- Oversee development of technical requirements and assess requirements flowdowns and allocations
- Assess and influence requirements verification plans, evidence, and documentation
- Oversee technical efforts performed by ETG partners – coordinate tasks and schedule, assess results, share results with management and customers
- Evaluate contractor deliverables
- Support mission assurance planning and implementation
- Support integration and test activities
- Interact with customers, management, and external partners at various levels
- Minimal domestic travel expected
This position is available as an Aerospace Corporation Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical degree
- 8 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering experience
- Experience with requirements and interface development and review
- Experience with verification planning and implementation
- Demonstrated technical analysis and judgment skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Current TS/SSBI, active SCI clearance with ability to obtain additional security clearances
Preferred
- Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art electronics for satellite systems
- Practical knowledge in one or more of the following skill areas: circuit design and analysis, FPGAs, digital/analog power electronics, EMI/EMC, or other relevant specialty discipline
- Professional experience with hands-on testing, troubleshooting and debugging electronics
- Experience with mission assurance processes, practices, and techniques
- Experience with integration and test activities
- Experience with integration of complex systems
Required for Senior Project Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical degree
- 12 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering, development, and acquisition
- Experience with requirements development and review
- Experience with verification planning and implementation
- Demonstrated leadership in developing technical teams in providing value added products
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of customer, contractor, Aerospace and SE&I personnel
- Demonstrated technical analysis and judgment skills
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
- Current TS/SSBI, active SCI clearance with ability to obtain additional security clearances
Preferred
- Demonstrated expertise with state-of-the-art electronics for satellite systems
- Deep technical knowledge and practical experience with digital, analog, power and RF circuits
- Demonstrated skill with hands-on testing, troubleshooting and debugging from the board to box level
- Experience with mission assurance processes, practices, and techniques
- Experience with government acquisition processes
- Experience with integration and test activities
- Experience with integration of complex systems
