Senior Robotics Engineer, Computer Graphics
Company Overview:
Relativity is the first and only company to automate aerospace manufacturing by integrating intelligent robotics, software, and proprietary metal 3D printing technology. Disrupting 60 years of aerospace, Relativity offers a radically simplified supply chain, building a rocket with 100x fewer parts in less than 60 days. Our long-term goal is to upgrade humanity’s industrial base on Earth and on Mars.
Team:
Relativity is looking for Robotics Engineers with a strong computer graphics and parallel programming background to join our multifaceted Additive Development Group. You will work with our team Software and Robotics Engineers alongside Weld and Materials Engineers to develop and mature the core of our Additive manufacturing technology to autonomously 3D print rockets!
What you’ll do:
Our mission is to induce a paradigm shift in how rockets are built and flown. As a Robotics Engineer you be responsible for the design and implementation the core components of our robotic 3D printing capability.
You will be responsible for the development and integration of our robotic systems, focusing on the geometric pipeline from modelling and generative design, slicing and tool path planning to the control of the process to execute the print.
What you need to know:
You have experience in 3D graphics, animation, simulation, and visualizations, and may have worked on high-performance physics simulations of real-world behavior for games or visual effects and are comfortable creating tools and algorithms to process 3D file formats and metadata to tailor it for live manipulation and visualization.
- BS in either Computer Science, Robotics, Additive Manufacturing, or relevant field
- Experience developing high-performance 3D graphics software for simulated environments
- Experience with geometry libraries such as CGAL, computer vision libraries such as OpenCV
- Demonstrated ability to process point clouds, 3D meshes and NURBs
- Ability to develop hardware-accelerated software using fragment and vertex shaders in OpenGL, CUDA, or similar
- Understanding of pathing algorithms
- 3+ years of experience writing software in C/C++, GLSL/HLSL, CUDA, Rust or Go
Nice to haves but not required:
- MS, or PhD in either Computer Science, Robotics, or relevant field
- Experience integrating simulation and visualizations into robotics or autonomous vehicle projects
- 5+ years of experience writing high performance software in C/C++ involving computer graphics
