Job objective: The Microwave Antenna Engineer role focuses on design, simulation, production, integration, measurement, test, and management of passive microwave, RF, and antenna components. The candidate will have the opportunity to help create the most powerful solid state phased array antenna in the world. 

 

Duties: 

  • Perform electromagnetic simulation using Ansys HFSS or equivalent CAD tool 
  • Perform RF and antenna measurements 
  • Design, test, and manage passive microwave components such as antennas, directional couplers, power splitters/dividers/combiners, RF connectors, circulators, and filters from UHF to Ka band 
  • Manage vendors to get RF products fabricated, assembled and sustained through manufacturing 

 Required Qualifications: 

  • BS with 3+ years of industry experience, MS with 1+ years industry experience, or PhD 
  • Experience in RF, microwave, and/or antenna design, simulation, and test 
  • Experience working with RF lab equipment such as vector network analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, and power meters 
  • Experience with Ansys HFSS and/or similar electromagnetic simulation tools 
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required) 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience with phased arrays 
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (preferably Python and/or MATLAB) 
  • Knowledgeable in RF power combiner technology, high power microwave design and measurement, and RF breakdown 
  • Knowledgeable in electromagnetics theory and microwave measurement techniques such as waveguides, TEM cell, radar cross section, and near field antenna pattern measurements 
  • Experience performing schematic capture and layout of RF circuit board designs 
  • Good written and oral communication skills 
  • Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization 
  • Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Location

Our company is located in Torrance, just off of the 405. We moved into our new 100,000+ square foot facility in November 2021 and love calling it home.
