We are looking for a technical innovator to join our small front-end team who can add value immediately. Our ideal candidate can prototype quickly, and can turn ideas on a whiteboard into an attractive P.O.C. in days or weeks, not months. They will communicate and work closely with other engineering and product teammates to add features and improve our code base. The applicant must have a strong grasp of data structures and database relationships in order to succeed in our fast-paced, analytical product team.You must have spent at least 1 year doing something similar unless you can really wow us with other technical achievements that you think will translate into being able to hop in.This is not a contract position. This is not a 100% remote position. You must be able to work from our El Segundo office once it is safe to resume normal business operations.Qualifications:

• Experience innovating on a software product using a modern front-end framework.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS.
• Able to read and grasp code written by other engineers.
• Favors simple, straightforward code that is both easy to read and easy to delete if it becomes obsolete.
• Refactors complex code when necessary to make it more accessible to teammates.
• Informed about the ever-evolving JS landscape; Looks beyond hype and identifies the advantages and disadvantages of the trending tools; Discerns whether the benefits of a new tool outweigh the burden it adds to the rest of the software team and code base.
• Knowledgeable about HTTP, REST and full-stack applications.

Preferred Experience:

• 3+ years software engineering experience.
• Experience using React Hooks, functional components, and Redux in production.
• Experience using, manipulating and animating SVGs.
• Familiarity with more than one Charting library.
• Experience contributing on Node.js, Golang or other server-side applications.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS and Docker.
