We are  seeking an exceptionally talented Senior DevOps Engineer who will develop reliable, performant, secure and scalable systems and work closely with software engineers on the team.

Success in this role requires the candidate to be willing to straddle the line between infrastructure and software development in support of achieving the company’s business goals of becoming the preeminent luxury fashion marketplace. 

You Will:

  • Work closely with Software and QA engineers to improve development processes and the local development environment
  • Support and maintain production and non-production environments based on Docker and Kubernetes
  • Support the team's efforts to break up our monolithic PHP application into services
  • Assist in system upgrades which require changes to the code base. e.g. Elasticsearch 7, Redis 6
  • Contribute to the support of our deployment and Continuous Integration pipelines
  • Integrate and productionize new technologies into the tech stack, such as BigTable and Pubsub
  • Invent and implement new tools to realize a higher level of developer efficiency
  • Take the time to do thorough code reviews and leave thoughtful feedback
  • Write new or update existing documentation about the DevOps systems, tools and processes used at Tradesy

You Have:

  • Four or more years of professional work experience writing backend (server side) code
  • Two or more years of professional experience as a DevOps engineer, SRE, or systems engineer
  • The ability to discuss and explain system architecture and component design
  • Strong knowledge of Linux command line tools and shell scripting is required
  • A mastery of Python or similar programming language
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is required
  • Experience with Helm and other Kubernetes tools is preferred
  • Experience developing and managing Redis or a caching layer is preferred
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL is preferred
  • Experience contributing to and maintaining a large scale customer facing website is preferred
  • Experience developing and managing and Elasticsearch cluster is a plus
  • Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ is a plus
  • Experience supporting machine learning systems is a plus
  • Experience with the Google Cloud Platform, Ansible, Jenkins, and/or the ELK stack are a nice to have
