Job Overview

We are looking for an engineer that loves and has chosen to specialize in backend development, and loves working within Node/Express with MongoDb/Mongoose. We expect candidates to have boilerplates or custom built frameworks that they are proud of and clearly communicate their design principles. The successful candidate will also be familiar with the infracture the code will run on and have experience in configuring Docker and Virtual machines to strategize infrastructure needs with the DevOps team.

Responsibilities

• Working with cross functional team members to produce tech solutions from business requirements
• Creating API services for Full-Stack engineers to consume
• Developing an API versioning plan to implement and maintain backward compatibility
• Planning and releasing new Services and Database Schemas
• Strategy to increase source code test coverage
• Ensure API services are maintainable and debuggable through proper automated tests and logging procedures.
• Ensure deployments are handled gracefully through proper data schema management and migrations.
• Enforcing security practices to ensure customer data integrity
• All other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

• 3-5 years in our primary stack (Node/Express, MongoDb/Mongoose)
• Proven records for launching, maintaining API services that have gone through the test of time and high volume.
• Understanding microservice design and experience in implementing client/server versioning to gracefully handle new deployments

Additional Competencies 

• Experience implementing GraphQL with express
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
