Ring is looking for a Lead API Engineer to join our eCommerce & Subscription team. You will build applications from ground up and work in a fast-pace, challenging, rapidly scaling technical environment with real opportunity for professional growth. You must be a driver and seek to have autonomy, visibility, ownership and flexibility. 

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain online payment processing services and APIs.
• Integrate with third-party systems and payment processors.
• Responsible for creation, maintenance, and validation of unit tests.
• Root case failures by reviewing service and device logs.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders and other software developers.
• Peer review changes, patches and bug fixes.

Experience/Qualifications

• BS degree in CS or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience with Ruby and/or GoLang
• 5+ years of experience building distributed backend services
• Experience with online payment processing, PCI compliance guidelines and security best practices
• Experience with Git and/or Github
• Experience with AWS
• Have strong interpersonal skills, writing, and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with containers and/or automated deployments
• Familiarity with Linux systems administration
• Familiarity with SQL databases and ElasticSearch
• Experience with Airbrake, New Relic and other tracking/monitoring services
