As a Security Engineer, you will work to improve the security of the Dave platform that helps millions financially. You will play a leading role in protecting the data of our customers and in securing the integrity of our systems. The ideal candidate is a natural problem solver who enjoys identifying ways to make things better, with an eye towards automation & efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• You’ll write scripts and build tools that the rest of the engineering team will use to catch security issues upfront.
• You’ll conduct regular security assessments on new and existing products and perform code reviews to proactively find potential vulnerabilities
• You’ll help other engineers build more secure systems via design input and code review.
• You’ll audit and improve the security of our cloud infrastructure and resources.
• You’ll analyze, assess, respond to various internet threats, and interact directly with the Dave engineering community regarding vulnerabilities and threats.
• You’ll be a champion for security, balancing end-user efficiency with business needs

Experience Required

• 3+ years of experience on an internal application security team as a security engineer or related discipline.
• Experience working with web and mobile applications security.
• Pentesting, vulnerability management, and incident response experience.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering disciplines or equivalent requiredAbility to conduct code review and provide advice on secure product design
• Experience with any programming language (Python, Javascript, Perl, Ruby, s etc)

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of mobile development best practices, both for the mobile web, and native applications.
• Knowledge of Git, Github, and development using pull requests.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, and IAM.
• Experience applying opensource technologies to solve security challenges (e.g. osquery, Forsetti).
• Certification in cybersecurity.
