Job Summary
The Systems Engineering Division (SED) provides unmatched experience in systems engineering to the U.S. government and to numerous public and private agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial companies involved in the advanced application of space technology. From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED exploits an incredibly broad array of engineering and business disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.

What You'll Be Doing
- As the Section Manager of the Systems Utility and Analysis Section in the Modeling and Simulation Department (MSD), you will lead a team that provides world-class analysis to quantify the performance and utility of space, ground, and related systems for the DoD, IC, Civil, and Commercial customers.
- Working with department managers and Aerospace leadership to develop a high performing organization in an inclusive environment
- Developing personnel through formal and informal performance management, evaluation, mentoring/coaching, and tasking
- Assisting the director in formulating and executing department strategy and other business functions (resource allocation, budget forecasting, etc.)
- Providing technical expertise and project leadership in technical analyses and/or software capabilities development relating to the section's core functional areas described above.
- Participating in full-time personnel and student intern recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding processes
- Obtaining and managing team member work assignments
- Reviewing section staff work products for quality, accuracy, and security
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, science, or related technical discipline
- A minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, including years in advanced education
- Significant aptitude in modeling, simulation, and analysis
- Demonstrated technical team leadership
- Ability to identify, organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks and learn new technical approaches
- Proven ability to effectively work with a wide range of colleagues, contractors, and government customers
- Current DoD Secret security clearance and the eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret and SCI security clearance
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Advanced degree in engineering, math, science, or related technical discipline
- Technical experience in the section's functional areas: operations research, communications systems, missile defense, reconnaissance, astrodynamics, and/or stochastic models
- Direct experience in an Aerospace or customer program office
- Broad professional network within and across Aerospace groups
- Current SSBI with DoD Top Secret and SCI security clearance
