Job Summary & Responsibilities:

We are looking for SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with mobile technology expertise to help develop and test the next generation of Motor Trend Group’s VOD/OTT Apps. This position will be responsible for testing and building automation to ensure our app can scale and meet the highest quality standard as possible. Essential duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

  • Evaluate existing automation framework and test scripts for efficiency and test coverage. Identify the areas of improvement and propose new implementation.
  • Design, create, and execute test plans and automation for mobile and connected device app
  • Contribute to develop automation framework, roadmap, and best practice.
  • Execute testing that includes functional, integration, analytics, API, and performance/load. Identify, document, and track bugs through to resolution.
  • Participate in reviews of product requirements, use cases, user stories, and functional requirements to prepare test plans in compliance with QA best practices and standards.


Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position will not include supervising one or more employees where applicable.


Education/Experience:

  • BA/BS in a Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in automation development and testing for mobile applications


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience in developing automation framework and test scripts for mobile app (iOS, Android)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with automation framework/tools, such as Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, XCUIaTest, Mocha, etc.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting languages like Java, JavaScript, Node.js. Mocha, etc.
  • Proficient with XCode and/or Android Studio
  • Experience integrating CI/CD systems with automation (Jenkins, Circle CI, Bamboo)
  • Proficient with source code management, github, stash/BitBucket, etc.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum) and frequent release cycles is a must.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical and problem-solving skills


Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to sit for prolonged period of time and view computer screen.

Equipment/Software Used:

  • Mac, Microsoft Office Suite, Atlassian Suite, Slack


Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in an office environment that is well lit and ventilated.
