What you'll do

We’re looking for intelligent people to join our team in building out Lucky Day and our exciting new products from the ground up.

At Lucky Day, we work closely with a nimble team to push the envelope toward outstanding user experiences. As a QA manager you will perform functional manual testing of new & existing features to cover all use cases and performance tests; ensure error handling and boundary conditions work as defined in product specifications.

Who you are

  • Have 4+ years of experience in software testing roles, ideally at fast-growing start up companies.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in building and leading QA Team, both Manual Testers and SDETs.
  • You are passionate about people, mentoring, and building a positive work culture.
  • You understand Agile software development principles and how QA contributes to the success of such processes and teams (Scrum).
  • You are familiar with software development and testing practices, like branching models, release planning, test plans, test cases, and CI/CD.
  • You have the ability to identify and prioritize current and upcoming needs of QA teams, building out new processes, systems, and structures as well as optimizing existing ones.
  • You can create and drive improvement of meaningful metrics around your work, setting targets, managing quarterly plans or OKRs.
  • You have strong track record growing talent and building a diverse skill set QA teams.
  • You have a demonstrable history of cross-functional collaboration.
  • You have hands-on experience testing software.
  • You have a positive attitude and great communication skills.

Qualifications

  • SQL experience
  • API testing
  • Software testing working with various technologies including distributed internet technologies
  • Proven experience creating, executing and reviewing results of functional, integration, and regression testing
  • Experience using the command line
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to design and implement test automation & unit testing frameworks
  • Experience with open source test tools
  • Experience with object-oriented programming languages
  • Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures and algorithms
  • DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional manual testing of new & existing features to cover all use cases and performance tests.
  • Ensure error handling and boundary conditions work as defined in product specifications
  • Work closely with product, design & engineering teams to help define quality metrics, and create use-case scripts to facilitate ad-hoc testing
  • Ensure test planning, test framework, execution, and reporting is efficient, and coordinated
  • Support and enforce engineers in writing tests to maintain high test coverage
  • Monitor failures and crashes, report bugs
  • Bring in new or better alternate automated testing tools
  • Maintain mobile and web release cycles along with comprehensive release notes
