WHY WE NEED YOU
The Process Development Team breathes life into hyperloop sub-systems, turning hyperloop design dreams into cold, hard reality. The team serves as a cross-functional bridge within the company, enabling the development and production of real hyperloop hardware. From early prototyping to mass production, Process Development Engineers work together with Design Engineers, Project Managers, Test Engineers, and when applicable, external partners to bring innovative design concepts to physical fruition.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Function as a key subject matter expert on the process of building power electronic components and assemblies
- Research, design, prototype, and develop new manufacturing processes ranging the entire spectrum from inception to full scale production
- Provide design for manufacturing and assembly feedback to the Product Development Engineering team
- Utilize 2D/3D CAD software to communicate concepts, design basic development fixtures and equipment, and manufacturing process layouts
- Write standard operation procedures, manuals, and safety documentation for manufacturing processes
- Manage relationships with external vendors for component and assembly builds
- Responsibilities may include project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and communicating project information
WHAT YOU'VE DONE
- 3+ years of manufacturing process development, process engineering, or manufacturing experience
- Proven experience managing external vendors
- Track record of managing projects
- Ability to interpret & understand complex part and assembly drawings and electrical schematics
- Ability to make effective decisions and communicate reasoning
NICE TO HAVE
- B.S or higher in engineering Field
- 3+ years of professional experience in manufacturing power electronics systems or equivalent electronics
- Familiarity with high voltage systems and associated safety equipment and procedures
- Proficiency in GD&T
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD and ability to interpret & create complex part and assembly drawings
- Six Sigma and Kaizen experience
- Hands on fabrication experience
- Experience with manufacturing tooling procurement, setup, and commissioning
