Job Objective:

The ideal candidate for the position is someone who has experience with designing power distribution systems handling up to 2,000 volts, extensive DC/DC & AC/DC conversion experience, and is interested in building and leading an advanced power management team at Epirus. Interest/experience in electric vehicle power systems and solid state batteries is a huge bonus.  In this role, you will work with a talented engineering team in all stages of development from design, integration, manufacturing support and system integration.

Duties:

• Design energy storage systems including but not limited to capacitive solutions such as super caps and ultra-caps
• Design systems with high DC power (10's of Kilowatts’)
• Design interfaces up to 2,000 Volts
• Designs Interfacing with solid state batteries such as lithium-Ion batteries
• DC/DC and AC/DC conversions
• Perform hardware bring-up and integration of power electronics circuits and modules and support power conversion systems hardware/software integration

Required Qualifications:

• BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline
• 5-10 years of power system design and power distribution design experience (or equivalent of at least 2 – 3 major projects completed
• Exposure to systems and handling power loads that vary in real time
• Expertise with designing power systems and power distribution systems for systems up to 100s of kW
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident (future clearance may be required)

Desired Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in power design field (EE).
• Power efficient design (designs with very high system efficiency)
• Prefer experience with electric vehicle power systems or power systems that the power load varies in real time up to 100s of kW of power
• Voltage designs from 50 volts up to 1000 volts
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization
• Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
