Divergent invented a manufacturing system that combines software, additive manufacturing, and assembly technologies to radically reduce the material, energy, time and capital required to design and build vehicles. Your Role: Metrology Engineer

Divergent is seeking a Metrology Engineer to join the Automation Team. The Divergent Automation Team is designing and implementing a revolutionary production system initially targeting the automotive market. This system is far from conventional, and requires proactive, capable, execution oriented, and innovative engineers. The team is an elite mix of industry leading automation experts and top tier junior engineers.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Integration of advanced metrology system into an automated assembly process 

• Optimized metrology hardware design and integration

• Software development and integration 

• Overall system optimization 

What You Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Electronic Engineering or Industrial Technology, with 6 years of related experience; Master's degree in a similar discipline with a minimum of 5 years’ experience; or PhD degree in a similar discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience. 

• Expertise in laser trackers (Leica etc.)

• Expertise in vision systems 

• Expertise in metrology software (NRK Spatial Analyzer preferred) 

• Expertise in tolerance analysis (capable of building tolerance models for analysis)

• Proficient software programming abilities (Kuka KRL, C++)

• Expertise in robot kinematics and calibration 

• Robotic programming experience (KRL preferred) 

• Ability to thrive and deliver goals and objectives in a quick moving, startup environment. 

• Strong engineering and problem-solving skills

• Ability to communicate and interface effectively with engineering and manufacturing groups 

• Strong Agile team work is essential
