WHY WE NEED YOU

As the Lead Test Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing, performing, and designing experiments and tests. This includes (but not limited to) high-level electromechanical test rig design, technical management of all aspects of project, selection of instrumentation and DAQ system, and creation of test documentation. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead integrated test programs from test planning, test execution, to data reporting
  • Collaborate with both internal and external customers to define requirements and specification for testing
  • Design high-level mechanical, electrical, and software aspects of complex test systems
  • Selection of sensors and detailed design of DAQ system
  • Create test plans, test procedures, and design review presentations to meet testing needs
  • Perform tests, troubleshoot, and fix issues during set-ups and/or testing of equipment
  • Budgeting, scheduling, and communicating project updates within an acceptable timeline
  • Perform other duties as required  

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or another related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in integrated testing of complex technologies
  • Fundamental understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software engineering
  • Experience with instrumentation selection, setup, and operation such as, voltage sensors, current sensor, load cells, pressure transducers, flow meters, thermocouples, and displacement sensors.
  • Experience with DAQ system design
  • Experience in developing requirements-driven test plans and procedures
  • Ability to read and review electrical drawings
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues with minimal supervision
  • Flexible to travel (~25%) to support testing at our Las Vegas facility as needed 

NICE TO HAVE

  • Master's in Engineering or another related field 
  • Experience with design of liquid and air-cooled systems
  • Experience with selection and use of VFDs, pumps, motors, and actuators
  • Significant “hands-on” experience
  • Basic programming knowledge in LabVIEW, Python, VBS or similar languages
  • Experience in CAD such as Unigraphics or similar software
