Convoso is a successful tech company with a competitive suite of call center software offerings. We’re currently seeking an action-oriented Lead Linux Systems Engineer to begin at full speed and quickly ramp up for success. You’ll be responsible for configuring, optimizing, and maintaining a wide variety of complex systems, software applications, and management tools—while vigilantly monitoring and making necessary updates to our in-house corporate systems. 

Communicating ideas and direction in a clear and concise manner should come naturally to you. You set the direction and deliver on time. Being a self-starter is also critical. But having the ability to motivate your team is what will ensure your success. 

You’ll wear many hats throughout your day, but none more important than your leadership hat. Therefore, prior experience leading a team of three or more engineers and administrators is mandatory. 

YOUR professional experience:

• 7+ years of experience working with Web/SaaS applications
• 5+ years of experience working as a systems engineer in a LINUX environment
• 5+ years of experience using a database administration system (Mysql)
• 5+ years of experience using a networking administration system (Juniper, Cisco, and more)
• Solid scripting skills (shell scripts, Perl Ruby, and Python)

Bonus Points:

• Configuration management experience (SaltStack, Puppet, and Chef)
• Deep understanding of VOIP technologies (Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, and more)
