Our engineering team at System1 is scaling a next-generation data-aggregation platform that’s improving the way advertising targets consumers, while keeping their privacy in mind. Lead Developers leverage cutting-edge technologies like .NET Core, AWS, Snowflake and Docker to process millions of impressions per day, develop cloud services, and improve optimization algorithms for search and social media platforms.

The Role You Will Have

  • Develop new features at every level, from database design to web services to APIs and UI, using the best tools available in our tech stack
  • Improve functionality of legacy features built using .NET Framework, C#, Angular, and evaluate for opportunities to introduce new technologies
  • Write production-quality code in a TDD environment
  • Lead the SDLC through the entire sprint cycle, working directly with cross-team stakeholders and engineering leadership
  • Mentor junior developers and manage co-op students, providing regular feedback and coaching

What You Will Bring

  • 10+ years developing SaaS or other service-oriented products, preferably those used by internal teams and stakeholders, in an Agile environment
  • Experience managing co-op students and/or junior developers
  • Career expertise with .NET Framework, C#, MSSQL and service-oriented architecture and frameworks
  • Expertise using .NET Core and AWS (or similar cloud platform) to create performant, highly scalable APIs
  • Expertise with database design and integrating big data tools like AWS Kinesis, Lambda and S3, Snowflake, and similar cloud or web-based services
  • Expertise with distributed systems and Docker products
  • Familiarity with Angular2+ or similar web framework
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar field

He was able to balance his work at System1 with assignments and studying, and now, he’s implementing what he learned on the job. Currently, he and the data science team are working on an algorithm to optimize System1’s advertising on a new network. Their custom-built machine learning infrastructure makes it easy to deploy new algorithms and track performance.
