THE PURPOSE:

The information management and configuration management (IMCM) lead will be responsible for maintaining the engineering organization configuration management system creation, roll out, maintenance, evolution, and process development for a growing transportation technology product development. The IMCM system will be the source of all documentation needed for eventual certification of the system for carrying passengers in a range of municipalities across the globe.

THE ROLE:

  • Establish, implement, and maintain a document release process
  • Maintain the product document list
  • Maintain the drawing tree
  • Maintain the product document database (SharePoint) for certification (ISO 140001 model)
  • Maintain the DOORs database
  • Maintain the action item database
  • Maintain the significant risk list
  • Author and maintain IMCM plan
  • Establish procedures and process for engineering change control at the system level and level on the engineering organization
  • Chair the engineering level change control board
  • Develop design principles with respect to configuration control
  • Interface with hardware, software and business development organizations to ensure alignment with company-wide IMCM
  • Practices and translate system level processes to be implemented at the subsystem level
  • Lead of a team IMCM engineers as the life cycle progresses

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • BS degree in engineering, math, computer science, or hard sciences
  • Product management experience in high speed rail, spacecraft, or aviation
  • In depth experience with implementing IMCM in a complex engineering system development, preferably high-speed rail or spacecraft
  • Hands on experience with DOORs, and other database tools for storing and maintaining information under configuration control for a complex technical system development
  • Comfort with development new processes in IMCM that are tailored to a new technology development
  • Must have a track record working in a fast-paced environment

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in engineering, math, computer science, or hard sciences
  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and with other groups
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to dialogue, negotiate, influence and work with others collaboratively and constructively
