About the Role and You

The Hardware Quality Systems Manager is responsible for the overall architecture of the business management system, including policies, business processes and procedures, and certification to relevant best practice quality standards (ISO9001). The role will have responsibility for developing, managing, supporting, training and auditing the organization on the agreed-upon business management system approach/ standards, and seeking to measure and continually improve its operational efficiency. The role is also responsible for ensuring that the organisation is working towards best practice standards for environmental (ISO14001) and health and safety management (ISO45001), with the objective of bringing these together in an integrated management system. The role reports to the Director, Hardware Quality, and will work directly with the senior and functional leadership across the organisation teams on developing the ways of working, continual improvement and quality culture.

The role-holder will have collaboration, organisational, planning, problem solving and leadership skills and will be a pro-active, “self-starter” to work optimally in a multifaceted and fast paced environment. The role requires a strong understanding of the best practice quality management, with extensive experience of developing policies, processes and procedures above and beyond the minimum requirements of ISO9001.  

What you’ll do: 

  • Manage the implementation of the business and quality management systems, managing the architecture of policies, business processes and procedural alignment with the aim of supporting ISO9001 certification
  • Working with the business systems teams to ensure we have appropriate and efficient information management tools and systems with effective work flows, controls and security aligned to business policies and procedures
  • Develop and manage the continual development and improvement of all policies and processes across all functions to ensure compliance to ISO9001
  • Align the overall business objectives and measure effectiveness through development of KPI’s with the purpose of highlighting areas for business efficiency improvements
  • Manage the process excellence team, ensuring prioritization is in alignment with the overall business development plan and the identification of business efficiency improvement
  • Plan process improvement activities and internal audit plans 
  • Develop an integrated management system covering environmental and health & safety standards
  • Act as a center of excellence on quality management across the whole organization

What we're looking for:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant numerical or quality subject area 
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in leading or managing a business management system in a highly complex or technical organization, preferably with some manufacturing background
  • Qualified ISO9001/14001 Auditor, with track record of attaining quality and environmental certification
  • Experience of collaborating with senior management and functional leaders, to train, coach and support implementation of quality culture within an organization
  • Ability to travel to the U.S. 1-2 times per year

Bonus Points:

  • IOSH level 3 or equivalent 
  • Experience of implementation of IOS9001 in HW and  SW organisation
  • Experience of working across different business units, (globally located) to produce an integrated quality plan and management system 
  • Experience of MS Project, Smartsheets, Jira and/or Miro planning and management tools
