Front-End Engineer
System1 is looking for a front-end engineer to work on MapQuest’s geospatial API platform. developer.mapquest.com provides the geocoding and routing APIs that allow developers to build mapping applications for startups and large enterprise companies. The API platform is maturing and you will be the primary builder of new features to serve the developer community.

The ideal person will not only be a solid mid-level frontend developer, but also a collaborative team player with positive energy and a desire to enhance their programming career.
The Role You Will Have
- Write and style React components that integrate with backend APIs
- Own tasks end to end, taking projects through the full engineering lifecycle
- Collaborate and problem solve with engineers and stakeholders
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy and lightweight planning processes
What You Will Bring
- 2+ years of development experience
- The ability to deliver high quality features using React, SASS, and ESNext
- A desire to grow in your career beyond frontend development
- Able to adhere to best practices and coding conventions
- Familiarity with agile development practices
- Experience working with git version control in a collaborative team environment, creating pull requests, and performing code reviews
- Excellent communication and time management skills
