Job objective: Reporting to the Field Services Manager, this role requires subject matter expertise on the capabilities and tactical methods of Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) and related technologies. Selected candidates shall serve as part of a specialized Field Service Engineering (FSE) team deployed OCONUS and drive the installation, configuration, troubleshooting & maintenance of Epirus solutions. Field Services Engineers will help identify, analyze & repair product failures, as well as ordering and replacing parts as needed.  The FSE will also answer customer questions about the product features and provide a level of customer training so in-depth knowledge of the Epirus products and solutions is required. The candidate must be able to assist support and at times act as an extension of the support team with in-field hands on. Field Services Engineers will complete training courses and learning modules on the Operations, Administration and Maintenance of the Epirus products. Upon receiving certification, FSEs may be deployed to OCONUS locations including Forward Operating Bases. FSEs will have knowledge or related expertise in C-UAS operations.

FSEs must also be able to conduct threat assessments and recommend procedures, possible courses of action and potential solutions - augmenting efforts to detect, identify, track, decide and defeat threats posed by UAVs threatening the safety or security of covered facilities, assets, and civilians.


Duties:

  • Attend daily/weekly maintenance meetings and provide status on FSE activity
  • Accomplish in-depth troubleshooting and analysis of any system difficulties experienced at the assigned location
  • Attend debriefings as required to aid in the rapid identification of emerging issues that would require company intervention to avoid Epirus product downtime
  • Document all unusual operational & maintenance problems, even if they are resolved on-site, to ensure that the company is apprised of and can identify emerging failure trends
  • Initiate Operations Action Requests identifying unique operational problems that require technical, procedural, or quality assurance actions to resolve
  • Provide on-site assistance to ground personnel and provide over the shoulder training when requested to enable ground personnel to operate the Epirus products independently
  • Liaise with and interact with the support organization as well as the R&D engineering team.
  • Ability to travel on short notice domestically, internationally, and/or to austere locations to in emergency situations and/or Customer requests for extended periods of one month or more. Backfilling of other FSE locations during extended absences may be required.

Required Qualifications 

  • Ability to resolve technical issues without assistance or supervision
  • Practical understanding of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) with specific emphasis on Groups 1-3 including their capabilities, technical performance, and operational employment
  • Must be able to work and live overseas for no less than 6 months at a time on a rotational basis for at least one year
  • Must be willing to deploy to OCONUS locations for a long-term assignment. Must be willing to accept immunizations as a condition prior to deployment and be able to wear and customer required uniform and/or working attire
  • Knowledge of command-and-control systems, kinetic and non-kinetic C-UAS technologies, experience with complex integration and interoperability of integrated systems.
  • Must be willing to work any shift and weekends as necessary to support operational objectives
  • Must be willing to deploy for long-term assignments & rotations
  • Must be able to obtain necessary security clearances and any required program access
  • US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required)

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient in MS Office 365 as well as understanding of basic systems administration and logging analysis tools
  • Strong communication both written and verbal, including presentation skills for clients and partners
  • Very strong organizational and interpersonal skills

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $96,000 - $143,000.

Location

Our company is located in Torrance, just off of the 405. We moved into our new 100,000+ square foot facility in November 2021 and love calling it home.
