About This Role

The Engineering team is responsible for bringing our amazing innovations from the R&D labs to customers by designing and developing equipment, machineries, and hardware and software-based tools. We are seeking a creative and resourceful Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of electrical engineering design and implementation. You will develop an effective understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with technical success in new environments and facilities.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and perform electrical systems design, control systems design, component selection, system sizing, and load calculations and develop product specifications for Apeel’s formulation mixing and application systems
• Perform electrical design for internal R&D and Produce Quality (PQ) tools
• Develop electrical schematics, layouts, one-line and three-line diagrams, etc
• Perform simple PCB design and ensure product quality
• Select appropriate electrical design tools and establish design best-practices
• Maintain responsibility for electrical design document control and configuration
• Prepare production documentation and source suppliers for fabrication of prototype and production parts
• Collect and analyze data from equipment and automated processes to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Lead all aspects of electrical integration of auxiliary equipment during installation and commissioning
• Write technical reports and present design and test results during Apeel’s technical forums
• Mentor and supervise a small team of junior engineers and technicians

What You’ll Bring

• At least 10 years of experience in a reputable company
• Experience developing prototypes and taking early stage design to high volume production
• Knowledge of NEC and other applicable electrical codes and standards
• Hands-on experience with PLC and other control systems (preferred)
• Experience with low, medium, and high voltage equipment design and integration
• Experienced with performing complex root cause and corrective actions analysis
• Creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to communicate in a cross-functional team environment
