The Director of Web Engineering is razor-sharp and eager to make an impact within a mission-driven organization. The Director of Web Engineering will play a central role in developing and monitoring our web engineering team and also being responsible for the long-term strategy of the web architecture for our flagship product NORA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and mentor a team of web engineers and be the guardian of our architecture
• Be a combination of technical hands-on software engineer and a leader who has the ability to influence, guide, and inspire those around you
• Empower the team to achieve a high level of productivity, reliability and simplicity
• Hire and retain a team of high-performing engineers and managers
• Understand the market and our end customers
• Foster and maintain a work environment that supports being kind, useful, and awesome
• Stays current on leading industry trends
• Conduct performance reviews, calibration sessions and feedback discussions for direct reports.
• Perform competency assessments across his/her team, and implement and monitor development plans with direct reports
• Oversee and mentor and/or assist in coaching and training departmental team members
• Works collaboratively with other department heads

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 8+ years of experience in developing enterprise Javascript-based web applications
• 5+ years of experience in a management role
• Confidence in building applications using React.js and Angular
• Experience with high uptime SaaS environments
• Medical and scientific knowledge strongly preferred
• Highly proficient in computing and technology skills
