Job Description

We are looking for a talented hands-on Director of Quality Assurance to join our team! As our Director of QA, you will be working closely with other members of the technology leadership team to ensure that our solutions provide the utmost quality. In addition, you will be responsible for defining the QA organizational and quality development structure, improving processes, as well as providing the vision for the long-term development of QA. This position reports directly into our CTO.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support and evolve QA strategy
  • Support and enhance standards, methods, and procedures to determine release readiness
  • Establish KPIs to ensure QA team is following the highest level of quality standards
  • Lead and mentor QA team members
  • Create an open environment that promotes individual creativity and fosters professional growth and development
  • Collaboratively contribute to short-term and long-term product planning and estimation
  • Actively participate and release planning and release management
  • Provide quality performance reports and reviews with senior leadership and functional leaders.
  • Help manage UAT process to ensure customer needs are met
  • Work cross-functionally to continuously improve processes and reduce product defects

 

 

Skills/Attributes Required

  • Minimum 7 years of total QA experience directly related to building and managing in-house built software in an Agile environment
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on QA leadership experience with direct people management responsibilities
  • Hands-on knowledge and in depth understanding of Agile product development methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Some experience utilizing test automation
  • Basic understanding of load and performance testing
  • Ability to lead teams of internal and external resources located on- and off-shore
  • Proven experience motivating others and leading geographically distributed teams
  • Hands-on experience writing test cases and using test case management software
  • Knowledge and experience using system performance monitoring software and services like DataDog, NewRelic or similar
  • Understanding and some experience using log aggregation software like Splunk, ELK or similar
  • Working knowledge of basic SQL to access data in RDBMS (MySQL, MS SQL)

 

Skills/Attributes Desired

  • Hands-on experience writing test automation scripts
  • Experience working in high growth tech environments
  • Good working understanding of and experience with CI/CD principles and frameworks
  • Experience working for a large media/ad agency strongly preferred
