We are seeking a Director of Customer Applications to manage and collaborate with our developers, architects, and product owners to deliver on our customer facing applications. You will report to the CTO and work closely with Product and Marketing departments to deliver on engineering priorities. You are tasked to manage and build teams to deliver high performing, customer experiences using modern web technologies. Your team’s mission is to deliver a great customer experience for EZ Texting’s core SaaS service- from signing up, to onboarding, to sending and receiving texts, and using account settings. The ideal candidate is an experienced software development manager who has led development teams to reach business goals, and worked cross-functionally with teams such as Product, UX, and Marketing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, able to drive tasks to completion independently, and able to learn new skills on the job as project requirements expand. This candidate should possess a technical understanding of a full stack of technologies, be highly results driven with a sense of urgency and have a collaborative approach to problem-solving.Required Qualifications:
Engineering ownership of EZ Texting’s front-end app experience across web and mobile web.
Grow and recruit a talented team of software engineers that build best-in-class user experiences.
Strong agile and scrum knowledge and experience in running scrum teams
Spearhead the technology efforts around our web experience; serve as a lead across the engineering team for front-end development
Collaborate closely with product designers and the business in an open, creative environment.
5+ years of experience leading teams to build modern web applications at scale
Experience with the latest front-end frameworks including Angular, React or similar frameworks.
Experience with Spring, Dropwizard and other enterprise Java technologies
Strong understanding of Microservices, SOA architectures and RESTful services
Strong coaching skills and career guidance for front-end and mid-tier developers
Ability to onboard and integrate new contract or third party resources
Strong organizational and communication skills, and can manage teams with both local and remote talent
Proven track record of shipping several large-scale projects with dependencies across teams
Work closely with software engineers, quality assurance, product managers and other engineering teams to achieve high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle (build, test and release on time)
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Mobile or SMS related technology, SaaS business experience
Experience with RESTful API design and / or consumption
