Grindr is hiring a Director of API Engineering!

Here's what you'll get to do:

• Direct the daily operations and responsibilities of the Backend Services API Engineering Team responsible for building a global platform to support mobile and web application functionality, while analyzing workflow, production deadlines, and development priorities
• Provide technical leadership and mentor API Engineering Team members in Java development, testing protocols and methodologies, MySQL database design, document store databases, deploy pipelines and security priorities, while soliciting cooperation to troubleshoot and resolve problems and production delays
• Oversee and direct the design and implementation of the company’s Backend Services architecture, reviewing project plans and coordinating activities focused on platform growth, electronic payment and subscription services, and application infrastructure security and stability
• Direct efforts to coordinate capacity planning and infrastructure engineering for SSL-enabled distributed systems running on Linux, and assign systems analysis, programming, and related development functions to dedicated subordinate API Engineers

Here's what we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, plus five (5) years post-baccalaureate experience as Lead Applications Engineer, Senior Software Engineer or related role
• Prior experience in architecture design of Backend Services API Platform for Mobile Applications, Cloud Computing (AWS and Google Cloud) fault tolerant design, Java, Javascript, SQL, Shell Script, GitHub, JIRA, encryption and end-to-end security
