Computer Vision Engineer
Team and Role Overview
Relativity is looking for a talented Computer Vision Software Engineer to join the multifaceted Additive Manufacturing team comprised of software, automation and computer vision engineers who work closely with welding engineers. This position will play a crucial role in expanding the intelligent systems that help us autonomously 3D print rockets!
Responsibilities
To support our mission to reimagine the way rockets are built and flown, you will be joining our Additive Manufacturing team in order to create applications that will run our deposition processes autonomously. This means that you will be implementing Computer Vision applications that run in real time—having the elements of image segmentation, image registration, object recognition, object pose detection, anomaly detection, edge detection, feature detection, predictive modelling and more!
Your objectives will entail quantifying properties of the deposition in real time, building closed loop control of the deposition parameters, developing calibration procedures with multiple sensors, using predictive modelling to detect temporal changes in deposition characteristics and using thermal imaging data for anomaly detection.
Candidate Profile
You have ideally built high performance software using computer vision and machine learning that can run in real time to control robotic systems using data from various sensors. You are excited to learn about the additive manufacturing process and are willing to collaborate with other software and automation engineers in our team. You will need creativity to automate existing manual interventions that are currently required during the printing process.

- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or a relevant field
- 3+ years of experience in Computer Vision
- Expert at using off the shelf computer vision libraries
- Experience in predictive modelling using Machine Learning
- Experience in Python, C++
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Master’s/PhD and 6+ years of experience in Computer Vision/Software Engineering
- Expert in Python, C++, .NET
- Familiar with Visual Studio
- Experience using thermal image data
- Experience building real time control loops using Computer Vision
- Experience using neural networks
