1. Position Overview

The Battery Test Engineer will be responsible for setting up, programming, and performing tests including vibration, battery module and battery pack cycling, temperature, temperature-humidity, shock, and UV testing.

  1. Key Roles and Responsibilities
    1. Create Programs and Test Lithium-ion battery modules and packs using AV 900 EX battery cycler and AVL Lynx 2.0 Test Stand using communication tools such as CAN for test automation and data collection.
    2. Creating test scripts and procedures.
    3. Environmental Testing Experience a plus.
    4. Vibration Testing Experience a plus.
    5. Write detailed test reports and engineering reports.
    6. Perform Post Data Processing and Analysis.
    7. Comply and Develop Safety procedures, and perform hazard assessments.
    8. Test equipment and batteries to mechanical shock, vibration, temperature, and humidity environments.
    9. Collect, organize, process, and analyze large quantities of cell test data to evaluate performance.
    10. Summarize data in test reports and make presentations.
    11. Maintain and calibrate equipment.
    12. Hands on experience with electrical test equipment, including: script writing for control of automated test equipment, data management, data plotting, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve test and equipment issues.
    13. Demonstrated attention to detail and expertise in accuracy and precision.
  2. Basic Qualifications
    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering with 3+ years of Experience.
    2. Or 5 years of experience as a Battery Test Engineer.
    3. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    4. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
    5. Experience with AVL Concerto preferred
    6. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    7. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
    8. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
    9. Ability to work under pressure and meet exacting deadlines.
    10. Able to capture data, write test reports, and communicate any test issues.
