Security is a core principle of the experience that Rival is building to revolutionize the live event experience. We're here to ensure that fans consistently have a secure and equitable experience on our website, our native applications, and in-person at the largest venues. You will be working with engineering and product teams to build a secure, multi-tenant, next-generation ticketing platform. Your expertise will be critical to help teams ship faster with confidence that we're delivering the experience that is expected by fans.

Responsibilities:

• Work with product and engineering teams to design and implement secure architectures
• Establish and promote secure development (SDLC) standards
• Foster a culture of building secure applications and safe handling of customer data
• Perform code reviews and implement fixes for bugs identified
• Collaborate with engineering to remediate insecure code and libraries
• Work with the development and product teams to ensure security best-practices are integrated into our services and clients
• Enable accelerated delivery by creating reusable solutions to common security challenges
• Design and build automated tools to detect and prevent abuse of the Rival platform
• Partner with QA to ensure that security is built directly into the testing and release process
• Mentor engineers on secure code practice and design

Requirements:

• Significant experience with languages and frameworks - we use Python, but it’s okay if you’ve only worked with Java, RoR, Go, etc.
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Extensive understanding of common security vulnerabilities such as the OWASP Top Ten: SQLi, XSS, and CSRF
• Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities to work with all levels of technical and nontechnical audiences
• Understanding that security is an iterative process that should enable business goals rather than a binary state that hamper them
• Penchant for approaching each problem with a secure by design mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with micro-service and container architectures (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) and applicable security challenges
• Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities to work with all levels of technical and nontechnical audiences
• Driven to stay updated on new threats and mitigation strategies
• Insatiable curiosity coupled with a tenacity to constantly improve
• Experience implementing anti-abuse analytics and tactics
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards (e.g. SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001)
• Bonus points if you have have used technologies like Lambda, Terraform, SQS, Dynamo, Redis, Cloudflare Workers
• Super bonus points for experience with iOS or Android security
