Epirus designs and builds cutting-edge, high-powered microwave (HPM) systems that have the ability to transform industries. With a successful foothold in the defense industry, where we invented directed energy weapon systems that surpass current capabilities, we’re creating new possibilities for intelligently-driven power products in commercial markets.

Job objective: Epirus designs and manufactures novel RF systems, in a variety of form factors, in a rapid development environment. The Antenna Engineer role focuses on design, simulation, production, integration, and test of antenna and radome components. Antenna sub-systems are often phased arrays, so particular experience in phased array development and test is preferred. Radomes must be designed for a variety of antenna subsystem form factors, combining electrical and mechanical engineering with a focus on low loss, structural integrity, manufacturability, and high-quality finish.

Duties:
  • Design and simulate antenna elements and antenna arrays
  • Design and simulate radome materials and structure
  • Coordinate manufacturing of antenna subsystem components, including radomes, mechanical mounts and test fixtures
  • Develop and conduct antenna tests to validate simulation
  • Perform antenna calibration and bore sighting

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in any of the following disciplines; Systems, Aerospace, Electrical, or related disciplines
  • 5+ years industry experience, including antenna and/or radome design and test
  • Experience with HFSS and/or other similar EM simulation tools
  • Experience with SolidWorks and/or other CAD tools
  • US Citizen (future security clearance may be required)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experienced in 3D modeling of mechanical mounts / fixtures for antennae and / or radome (Solidworks preferred)
  • Good written and oral communication skills; not afraid to speak up, either to ask for help or disagree on a technical point that warrants more discussion
  • Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization
  • Eager to learn and to help others on the team
  • Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Focused, with perspective on what matters most, rapidly delivering customer value
  • Experience with phased arrays
  • Knowledgeable in RF properties of materials, as it pertains to radome
