About the Job.

As an Android Engineer with Gimbal, you will work on supporting and developing our Android Location SDK. This includes adding new features, maintaining current code, and continually updating the code to accommodate Android OS changes. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborating across an agile team to continuously design, iterate, and develop our mobile SDK and applications

• Adapting our mobile SDK to changing Android requirements

• Participating in the complete software development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment

• Documenting and managing multiple repositories of code

• Collaborating between teams to develop internal systems and resolve bugs

What you have:

• 5+ years of working experience as a software developer, preferably in mobile development

• Strong background using Java and Kotlin in an Android setting (any iOS/Swift/Objective-C experience a plus)

• Experience building Android APIs, SDKs, and other mobile applications

• Experience with Android Bluetooth APIs, Permissions APIs, Location APIs, and Application Lifecycle

• Proficient in unit and integration testing to debug Android code 

• Familiarity with SQL databases and AWS a plus

• Experience creating/working with REST APIs and microservices a plus
