Canoo is building an effective ADAS system for its vehicle program. The goal is to provide an elegant solution over a brute force approach. The team is looking to add more skills to the current team with an engineer who is focused on delivering the sensor hardware to the program.


Some Specific tasks are highlighted below:

  • DRE for components including all elements of hardware and software
  • Develops component technical specifications as well as statement of requirements as required
  • Leads formal design, peer, and quality reviews
  • Leads resolution of technical issues
  • Leads/manages supplier resident engineers
  • Primary engineering interface with the component suppliers
  • Intimate knowledge of hardware and software interfaces
  • Ensure all vehicle program imperatives (cost, timing, investment, and quality) are met
  • Generates technical solutions for current, new and major programs
  • Provides technical leadership for advanced technology development
  • Travel as required

Required Skills

  • Professional experience in electronic component design
  • Demonstrated performance in a position requiring engineering technical excellence
  • History of success in applying advanced technology in complex systems
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
  • Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required
  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required
  • Knowledge of software development as it pertains to engineering preferred
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • High level of oral and written communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience with automotive electronic modules and sensors
  • Experience in computer vision, pattern recognition, machine learning (deep learning), artificial intelligence and image processing
  • Experience with computational platforms for machine vision and sensor fusion
  • Experience in Design/Development of Safety Critical Systems/Components
  • Experience in automotive network protocols such as Can and Ethernet
  • DFMEA training
  • Electronic module Validation Experience
  • DFSS Certification
  • Software Controls experience
