About Juniper Square

Our mission is to unlock the full potential of private markets. Privately owned assets like commercial real estate, private equity, and venture capital make up half of our financial ecosystem yet remain inaccessible to most people. We are digitizing these markets, and as a result, bringing efficiency, transparency, and access to one of the most productive corners of our financial ecosystem. If you care about making the world a better place by making markets work better through technology – all while contributing as a member of a values-driven organization – we want to hear from you.

Juniper Square offers employees a variety of ways to work, ranging from a fully remote experience to working full-time in one of our physical offices. We invest heavily in digital-first operations, allowing our teams to collaborate effectively across 27 U.S. states, 2 Canadian Provinces, India, Luxembourg, and England. We also have physical offices in San Francisco, New York City, Mumbai and Bangalore for employees who prefer to work in an office some or all of the time.

About your role

As the Director of Procurement & Strategic Sourcing, you’ll lead a growing team of procurement specialists and drive the continued evolution of Juniper Square’s enterprise-level sourcing strategy. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, you’ll partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Security, and Business Operations to optimize spend, mitigate risk, and enable teams to move faster with confidence.

This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role. You’ll review and work within our established approval workflows, oversee all contract lifecycle management, and drive cost savings through competitive sourcing and vendor negotiations. You’ll also play a critical role in building and maintaining trusted relationships with executive leadership and department heads across the organization.

We are open to candidates across the United States, though our ideal candidate would be based on the East Coast to best support collaboration with their team members.

What you’ll do

Strategic Leadership

  • Build upon and evolve Juniper Square’s procurement strategy to ensure scalability, operational excellence, and alignment with company goals.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering continuous learning and elevating performance to meet company objectives.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team, influencing vendor strategy and ensuring procurement initiatives align with organizational priorities.

Cross Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Security, and Business Operations to ensure procurement activities align with budget, compliance, and risk-management objectives.

  • Influence, educate, and drive adoption of procurement processes across the organization, ensuring strong alignment with internal stakeholders and consistent policy adherence.

Vendor Management

  • Lead all strategic sourcing activities, including supplier selection, RFPs, contract negotiations, and vendor performance management.

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and visibility across all vendor agreements.

  • Oversee vendor performance management, including KPIs, SLAs, and renewal reviews, to ensure optimal pricing, service levels, and long-term value.

  • Proactively manage renewals and vendor relationships to maintain competitive advantage and operational continuity.

  • Identify and deliver significant cost savings across software, services, and operations while maintaining quality and mitigating risk.

Process and Performance Optimization

  • Oversee and manage Lexion, Juniper Square’s vendor contract management tool, ensuring consistent use and data integrity.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting to track and communicate procurement KPIs, performance metrics, and savings outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, and process scalability to enhance efficiency and transparency across the procurement lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of procurement and sourcing experience, ideally within a SaaS or technology company, including at least 2–5 years at the Director level.

  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of achieving cost savings and process improvements.

  • Excellent understanding of procurement best practices, contract management, and risk mitigation.

  • Ability to build a brand for procurement in the company and drive change. Excellent partnering, communication, and project management skills in leading sourcing initiatives

  • Exceptional relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with executive teams.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Experience implementing or scaling procurement tools (e.g., CLM, spend management, or workflow automation platforms) a plus.

At Juniper Square, we believe building a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture makes us a better company. If you think this job sounds like a fit, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the qualifications.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
