A recognized leader in economic analysis and litigation support, Ankura’s Competition & Class Action Disputes team combines unparalleled data analytics experience with the financial, economic, analytical expertise that clients and their legal counsel rely upon to successfully navigate complex matters. Our team, comprised of Economists, Data Scientists, Statisticians, and others, works across several industries, including healthcare, banking, financial services, manufacturing, and energy, and in many types of litigation, including commercial disputes, antitrust matters, class actions, and labor disputes. We offer unique insights and complex analytical offerings for our clients that reveal how this information impacts legal disputes that these companies may be facing. We combine in-depth operational, compliance, and industry knowledge with exceptional data analytics, information-gathering, and forensic skills — enabling us to help client and counsel assess and quantify the potential impact of a dispute.
Role Overview:
Directors support the team within Ankura’s Disputes & Economics practice - one of seven practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm. Directors will use data analytics skills, industry knowledge and project management capabilities to develop custom solutions for clients facing high-profile and complex investigations and commercial disputes in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred locations on a hybrid basis include LA, NY, and DC.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate would be assigned to various projects where he/she would perform the following types of activities:
Direct and review the development of complex analytical models leveraging relational database software, high level programming languages, complex spreadsheets, and other analytical tools.
Supervise and conduct data gathering activities, document review, and quality control of data assessment.
Prepare client communications, both written and oral, for senior level review.
Lead project teams in preparing expert analysis and testimony.
Interface with clients throughout all phases of consulting engagements.
Encourage relationship building by participating in the firm’s activities and initiatives.
Develop, supervise, and motivate a team of highly performing consultants.
Act as a mentor and supervisor to Associate and Senior Associate professionals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in business, finance, economics, data analytics, or related field.
5-7 years working in litigation/disputes consulting or similar data-driven consulting, with real experience in forensic analysis and dispute work.
Solid grasp of legal and regulatory issues that impact organizations in dispute situations.
Hands-on experience analyzing financial and operational data.
Strong technical skills with database and data modeling tools like SQL, Python, R, or SAS.
Understanding of attorney-client privilege and the discipline to maintain confidentiality when it matters.
Experience leading and mentoring junior team members.
Proven project management abilities, you know how to keep things moving and organized.
Comfortable managing several projects at once without losing quality or focus.
Team-oriented mindset with a genuine commitment to doing good work.
Clear, effective communication skills in both writing and presentations.
Willing to travel as needed for client engagements.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or New York, Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the said markets and considers a broad range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The range does not include additional benefits outside of salary. At Ankura, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $85,000 to $200,000; this range is not a promise of a particular wage.
