We build products that bring people together and are a small team with a focus on individual responsibility and rapid development. We are looking for a passionate and curious UX researcher to work on our Product Design team and collaborate with partners across Product Management, Data, Engineering, etc. As the UX Researcher at Tinder, you will help define strategy and work to find opportunities for testing in the user experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Run Tinder’s User Research function while functioning as a hands-on contributor
  • Lead the effort to understand and empathize with our users through ongoing, frequent, strategic, and significant research using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods (surveys, interviews, usability studies, diary studies, ethnographic observation, or a new method you invent)
  • Deliver personas, a UX vision, and set our research strategy, working closely with design leadership to efficiently implement user experiences that are cohesive, expansive, and well-informed
  • Influence the business and product strategy while being a strong and eloquent advocate for user-centered design
  • Partner with our data analysts to provide qualitative context for their quantitative insights and with market research to grow and develop our research capabilities
  • Collaborate and communicate in a way that amplifies the voice of our users, and influence product strategy and design
  • Advocate research findings to designers and diverse audiences through written reports and presentations
  • Test design solutions to ensure we’re solving top user needs as we evolve our products

Required Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of UX design/research experience, familiarity with various methodologies, and experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices
  • Proactive, organized, and able to balance multiple projects and their own initiatives
  • Ability to think big and interpret complex user and design problems
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach to working with others
  • Strong interest in social app products, Gen Z, and associated trends
  • A portfolio of relevant research samples

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with international research and/or proficiency in more than one language
  • Experience as an interaction designer, visual designer or other related UX role
  • Experience with SQL, data analysis
