First Resonance is looking for a UI/UX designer to help bring a powerful and clear user experience to engineers and technicians building the future of hardware. The ideal candidate is someone that is a hustler, go-getter, and is thrilled by the opportunity to build technology and products at an early-stage startup. Designing for dynamic and mission-critical environments like hardware manufacturing is a challenge, and providing a streamlined design to help those who work in
these industries will help accelerate things like electric aircraft, access to space, autonomous vehicles, and more.

Our application is made up parts that affect various parts of the manufacturing process. This includes setting up the assembly workflow, coordinating with your team to hit schedules, and productively executing manual, automated, and semi-automated workflows. Users currently use laptops as well as tablets to build real hardware, get assistance on
hardware decision-making, and coordinating with their team.

The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, product, and customers to drive change into the next generation of hardware manufacturing.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, scrappy, detail-oriented, friendly, and has the ability to learn quickly. A strong interest or background in Industrial IoT, Industry 4.0, and tinkering with hardware and software is preferred.

Base skills:

> Experience and portfolio in visual design and component design

> User experience research

> Low, medium, and high-fideltiy mockups

> Experience with and a willingness to use design collaboration software (e.g. Figma)

> Communicative, transparent, and a team player

Preferred skills:

> Has designed a deployed solution in an enterprise context

> Experience with complex information hierarchies

> Some base understanding or good intuition about manufacturing systems (parts, BOMs, inventory, machinery)

Responsibilities / Initiatives

The UI/UX designer will be responsible for streamlining our existing application and hierarchy to help our users get their jobs done better, faster, and simpler. In addition, we are beginning new initiatives that involve complex information hierarchies and data. The UI/UX designer will be heavily involved with and eventually drive the user experience
to help users understand and make good decisions on the increasing volume of data coming from manufacturing machines and workflows.
