Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result in great games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to critical and player acclaim. As the most played PC game in the world, over 100 million play every month. Players form the foundation of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and improve the League of Legends experience.

We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints.

That's where you come in.

As a Senior Instructional Designer / Facilitator on our Learning & Development team, you'll contribute to building and delivering engaging learning experiences that will help shape Riot's culture and leadership development programs. Coupling both traditional training experiences with unconventional learning approaches, you'll develop and carry-out an educational strategy that helps our new people managers and leaders learn the skills they need to thrive, while enabling the hardened vets to broaden their professional horizons and deep-dive into advanced leadership development topics. We're looking for skilled professionals, whose Facilitation and Instructional Design skills are at the Master or Challenger level; individuals who will jump right into the action and level our team up!

You are:

  • A passionate Learning and Development professional: you're dedicated to pursuing a career in Learning and Development, have been building your career masteries within the discipline for some time, and know that teaching and training others is what you want to do.
  • A developer of experiential learning: you are adept at working with adult learners, have a strong knowledge of instructional design, and a proven track record in the world of learning and development, with experience in developing, designing, and implementing engaging curricula for a variety of audiences in a range of formats. You strive for an impactful learning experience and are keen to measure that impact in creative ways.
  • An experienced trainer/facilitator: you're pro at bringing engaging learning experiences to your audiences and are comfortable managing large group discussions while imparting relevant and applicable content; regardless of whether the material is bone dry or wildly controversial, you command attention and can improvise midstream if your audience starts zoning out.
  • A multi-platform trainer: you understand the benefits and challenges of most learning modalities and are able to determine the best learning medium for the greatest impact; you have diverse experience with various formats (instructor-led, web-based, blended).
  • Intellectually adaptable: you're a self-aware learner with an optimized way of processing new information; not only can you draw correlations between complex abstract concepts, but you can also articulate complexity in the learner's language.
  • A collaborative communicator: you're a relationship builder because you understand the intrinsic value of connectedness; you're also known for being a molder of consensus and collaboration.
  • A threat to convention: you don't accept the status quo as the immediate learning solution; instead, you take a consultative approach by performing solid root cause analyses and looking at problems and solutions from multiple perspectives. You've got the courage and bravery to take risks on something completely new and crazy, but so crazy it might work.
  • Player-focused: you're a lifelong gamer who's passion for games (especially League of Legends) helps you stay focused on initiatives that make the difference to Rioters, who are players themselves.

You will:

  • Collaborate with the Leadership Development team to design and develop senior leadership and front line manager learning modules, programs, resources and events that ensure that Riot can develop and retain key talent, possibly scoping and sourcing content and working with Riot's senior leaders to create these experiences.
  • Build trusting relationships within Riot by understanding and delivering on continuing needs that are identified, while scoping and implementing executive leadership and manager development initiatives.
  • Ensure all educational curricula meet Riot's needs and evangelize the company culture; identify new learning opportunities by holding open discussions, performing needs analyses, and interviewing fellow Rioter leaders.
  • Wrangle educational resources outside the company such as MOOCs, workshops, certification courses, and universities.
  • Facilitate a variety of instructor led courses for Riot's leaders and managers.
  • Act as a primary contact for feedback, input and opportunities to enhance the programs. Connect with leaders to understand needs to further optimize the program.
  • Establish key measures for success and evaluate learning experiences to ensure they keep pace with the needs of an industry that's evolving faster than a void creature on a hunting excursion; upgrade development resources and open additional classes as new needs and interests crop up.

Don’t forget to include a resume and cover letter. We receive a lot of applications, but we’ll notice a fun, well-written intro that shows us you take play seriously.
