At ChowNow, the Product Design team has a passion for helping restaurants thrive and making an impact on our local communities. We’re working on big challenges, with the goal of helping local restaurants survive, thrive, and build relationships with the customers who love them. Product Designers are invaluable to ChowNow’s mission and customer experience.

As our company enters a new stage of growth, we’re looking for highly skilled, collaborative, and proactive Designers who can champion and further our culture of human-centered design and innovation.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Through human-centered design methods, Product Designers understand and anticipate pain points, define vision states, and design + codify ChowNow’s digital language. This Senior Product Design position requires both strong visual and UX design skills as they will represent Product Design on at least 1 Product/platform in our ecosystem of Diner touchpoints: (a.) Marketplace App & site, and (b.) White Label digital ordering app & site. Through collaboration with UX Researchers, Brand Designers, Engineers, and Product Managers, this role will identify opportunities to improve our consumer-facing products and differentiate them from a competitive industry. Your work will help our restaurant partners thrive and serve their communities with delightful, convenient experiences.

With a broad ecosystem of products, the Design System is a crucial tool for Product Designers and Engineers, and this role will be expected to leverage and contribute to it. Lastly, this role will champion human-centered design across the organization to develop scalable, intuitive, and performant products that our customers love.

The decisions you make will have a huge impact on our customers and provide great learning opportunities for the product organization. Understanding the importance of user testing and feedback is integral to developing efficient products at ChowNow, and you will work cross-functionally to identify research opportunities, iterate on customer feedback, and empower one another.

ABOUT THE TEAM:

ChowNow is unique among tech startups in the restaurant space. We power branded online ordering systems for independent restaurants across North America – via websites, Google, Instagram, and through branded iOS and Android apps – and we do it all for a reasonable monthly fee regardless of order volume. We operate this way because of our belief in being fair, sustainable, and equitable with our restaurant partners. And the same goes for our workplace.

Diversity, teamwork, and mutual respect are among our core company values. And we pride ourselves on giving our teams plenty of opportunities to make their mark. To date we’ve created over 20,000 apps for our restaurant partners – something that’s never been done before in our category. And as we expand to new markets, further spreading the word about the ChowNow difference, those opportunities to create, build, and grow will only increase. If this sounds like the kind of workplace, and the kind of mission, that appeals to you, we’d love to talk.
