Senior Motor Design Specialist

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Responsible for electromagnetic analysis, modeling and design of electric motors for current and future products
- Own DFMEA and test procedures for electric motors components and completed assemblies
- Analysis and optimization with equations and finite element analysis on thermal and mechanical modeling
- Develop test plans and work with motor control and motor test engineers to validate motor performance predictions
- Define accelerated life tests, test conditions, and pass/fail criteria for all electric motors as well as completed system
- Creates DFMEA , technical reports, presentations, and participate in writing product documentation
- Collaboration with supply chain, vendor and manufacturing engineers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability
- 3+ years in electrical machine design & analysis with power rating up to 30 kW
- Extensive knowledge & experience required in electro-magnetic machine design using FEA tools, mesh networks, and analytical models
- Experience in electric vehicle powertrains, including various traction motor architectures
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
- Knowledge of Altium Designer schematic and layout is a plus
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
